The 100 Mile Wilderness Canoe Challenge!
Dates – TBC
Challenge Overview
Take on 100 miles of the River Severn and canoe from Welshpool to Gloucester over 5 days.
This 5-day challenge is more than achievable even for those new to canoeing. Each day starts with a hearty wilderness breakfast, before launching off for the morning’s paddle. Only stopping for toilet breaks, snacks and lunch, you will wind your way along the longest river in the UK and spend the night under the stars along the picturesque riverbank.
Following a short leg mid-way through the challenge, you will mark the halfway point of your trip with a BBQ, wilderness cooking session, introduction to survival skills & campfire coaching session at TEAM Bootcamps ‘Low camp’ (Knowlesands, near Bridgnorth).
Then it’s the long push to Gloucester and the finish line. The emphasis of this trip is disconnecting from modern life and reconnecting to nature and yourself for 5-days. Your river guide and mindset coach will ensure you are both safe and inspired throughout the route and your event director will ensure you are catered for adequately.
Weight loss is not the aim of this trip, but you can expect to be challenged physically and also have your wellbeing nurtured.

I was inspired to set up this trip after completing a similar canoeing experience with my eldest son Danny in 2017 in Sweden. It was amazing how much we could learn about ourselves and each other when life is stripped back to you a paddle and the river to navigate. The whole trip was packed full of useful analogies and thought-provoking moments which left me inspired and regenerated.
The added challenge of the target miles is an added bonus. I am a firm believer that we all need challenges in our lives to feel inspired and this canoe challenge will allow anybody of any level to try something new, succeed and feel proud at the end.
I look forward to paddling and coaching you throughout the trip.

FAQ’s
If I drove, is there someone safe to leave my car?
Yes. You can leave your car at one of our boot camp locations that are occupied 24-7, overlooked by CCTV and checked by our camp manager down there daily.
What’s the address we meet at?
We meet at The Old Vicarage in Bridgnorth – WV155JL
Do we sleep in tents? Are these shared or individual?
We sleep in small 1 person tents like this one . You bring your own sleeping bag and sleeping matt, but the tents have a bug net and are watertight. Trust me… we tested them in a horrendous thunderstorm on last years trip.
Are any facilities available where we will be camping?
There are toilets and shower facilities at all of the campsites we stop at. I aim to stop at proper campsites, but sometimes it depends on the speed of the group. In that case, you may have 1 night without facilities. There are toilets and jump off points, towns and pubs for toilets throughout the day. I cannot promise toilets every time you need a pee, but they’re pretty frequent and we stop every hour or to stretch off and grab an ice cream.
If the trip had to be cancelled or I needed to rearrange due to Covid restrictions being extended etc would I be able to reschedule or get a refund?
Initially, I will look to rearrange the trip to a date that suits everyone best. If the date doesn’t suit then I will refund 100% of the cost of the trip.
