This role would be ideal for someone who loves cooking and that wants to have a level of autonomy with their work or a chef with weight loss or fitness retreat experience.
Our kitchen environment is quite different from that of a commercial kitchen. If you are ready for a change or relish the idea of working with limited supervision then this role is perfect for you. You will have every opportunity to create a working routine that works for you.
Roles include:
- Delivering high-quality food on time for our clients.
- Managing the kitchen budget.
- Managing stock and the order process and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
- Champion H&S and Hygiene requirements within the kitchen efficiently and effectively.
- Maintaining good communication with the front of house staff.
- Knowledge and ability to adapt recipes for dietary requirements, food allergies and intolerances.
- Assist in the development of the catering team.
- Interact, with clients to discuss cooking, recipes and ideas so they can maintain a healthier diet at home.
Reporting:
- The Chef will report directly to the head chef.
- Act as the conduit between other members of the catering team and senior management.
Routines:
- Part-time – 1 week per month or potential split shift.
- Immediate start.
Experience (Essential):
- Proven and demonstrable history of quality food preparation.
- Health & hygiene certificate.
- A passion for producing new recipes and menus. We will initially supply meal plans and recipes but we want your enthusiasm, creativity and foodie flare as soon as you are familiar with the role.
- Good communication.
- The ability to work alone in the kitchen but as part of a bigger team working towards achieving the best results and experience we can for our clients.
Experience (Non-Essential):
- Basic knowledge of paleo nutrition.
- Previous kitchen management experience.
- Working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- NVQ Level 3 or 4 or relevant experience: Formal qualifications aren’t everything we’re interested in, it is your experience, ideas and passion for healthy cooking that are key!
